1800 Agave Nectar Squeeze recipe

1800 Agave Nectar Squeeze recipe

A smooth, citrus-bright, naturally sweet tequila cocktail made with 1800 Silver or Reposado and real agave nectar.

This drink is refreshing like a margarita but lighter, cleaner, and more focused on pure agave flavor. Perfect for summer afternoons, taco night, or anytime you want a simple, bright tequila cocktail that isn’t overly sugary.

🍹 Ingredients (1 Cocktail)

Base Cocktail

  • 2 oz 1800 Silver Tequila
(Reposado works too if you want warm, honeylike depth)

  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice (about 1 medium lime)

  • ½ oz agave nectar
(thin with a splash of warm water if very thick)

  • ½ oz fresh orange juice
(or ¼ oz if you want a cleaner, sharper profile)

  • Ice for shaking and serving

Optional Upgrades

  • 1–2 dashes orange bitters

  • Splash of soda water for a lighter highball finish

  • Pinch of kosher salt inside the drink

  • ¼ oz Cointreau or orange liqueur for a slightly richer, margarita-like edge

🍋 Garnish Options

  • Lime wheel or lime wedge

  • Orange wheel or twist

  • Tajín rim, salted rim, or half-rim sprinkle

  • A thin lime twist curled inside the glass

  • Edible flower for presentation (e.g., marigold or nasturtium)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions (Longer, Step-by-Step)

1. Prep the Glass

  • Use a rocks glass or a chilled Old Fashioned glass.

  • Optional:

    • Salt or Tajín the rim by running a lime wedge around the top ½ inch of the rim and dipping in seasoning.

  • Fill glass with fresh ice and set aside.

2. Shake the Cocktail

  1. Add tequila, lime juice, orange juice, and agave nectar to a cocktail shaker.

  2. Add a handful of ice.

  3. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until cold and slightly aerated.

    • The agave nectar blends beautifully when shaken well; don’t under-shake.

  4. Taste a drop from the shaker:

    • Add a splash more lime for brightness

    • Add a drop more agave for sweetness

    • Adjust to your preference

3. Serve

  1. Strain into your prepared glass over fresh ice.

  2. Garnish with lime or orange.

  3. If desired, top with a small splash of soda water for extra lift.
